I see Bevan’s Run has finally made it into the Guardian.
They posted a story on Sunday night, after the six-day run was over. (That’s two days after I asked “Why hasn’t Bevan’s Run made the nationals?”)
I don’t understand why the Guardian’s love of live-blogging didn’t extend to this event, any more than I understand why they ran an archive picture of Nye Bevan with the story instead of a photo of the young, photogenic runners Drs Peedell and Wilson. But at least they covered it, while the rest of the nationals (as far as I can tell) ignored the story completely. I think the BBC ignored it too. I'd be very happy to be corrected if I'm wrong, but I don't think it even made an item on the BBC Oxford radio news.
(My photos of the event are on Flickr. So are several other people's photos.)
